Finally out of California, time to get down ta bidness. Isabel and I parted ways 3 days ago in Indio, so I'm back on my own. My first day out I did about 50 miles which I'm trying to make my new daily distance, its much easier biking through the desert, its been so flat. The towns are getting much farther apart, which keeps me motivated to do longer days.
I spend the first night out in a little town called desert center, even the title sounds like a nicer way of saying 'middle of nowhere'. it consisted of 2 roads, a diner, and a corner store. It was like a ghost town, there were abandoned markets and gas stations and train cars all around the diner. I really regretted not having a camera, I really need to pick one up. The woman at the diner told me I could sleep in the 24 hour post office thing but I declined and found a little place off the road to set up camp.
Made it just past the Arizona border yesterday, and got my first flat tire. After patching it up I found a place to camp under a tree along the freeway. I'm getting kicked off the computer so I'm off

That sounds really awesome tim.. I can definately see how that could motivate you to do longer days, but don't forget about staying hydrated haha. You really should get a camera, I would send you my extra one but that would be pretty hard to pin point unless maybe later. Hope things keep going well and you see even better things. Are you going by the grand canyon like I said we should haha god I wish i was out there. Hear from ya when I do, have fun for me too haha.
